Raise Intelligent Kids

If you want to raise intelligent kids, speak to them intelligently.

If you want to raise intelligent kids, speak to them intelligently.

There is nothing more annoying than being out in public and hearing grown-ass adults talking to their kids like they are a puppy. There is nothing worse than seeing a mother with nails longer than Freddy Krueger's knife glove, saying things like "uh-uh, that doesn't work" or pretending they are some queen bee instead of teaching their kids life skills, how to be kind, how to turn angry or overactive emotions into productive learning, and just being all-around kind kids.

Too many times, I am out in public, and I see a mom or a dad not having conversations about how things work. Instead, they seem to get all worked up or pissed off because their naturally curious child is asking many questions. If you do not know the answer to a question, look it up. You have a smartphone for Christ's sake.

When you are home, do not expose your kids to degenerate fake expectations of life like the Kardashians. Turn that trash off at home unless you are watching it yourself in private. Your child does not need exposure to such trash online, on social media, or on trashy TV.

Parents are the problem. Fix it.

Parents are the number one most important teacher in a child's life. Be that teacher. Your kids will be exposed to nonsense at school and told it is reality.

Have intelligent conversations with your kids. Make them think. Help them be critical thinkers and learn from failure. Failure is learning. It is problem-solving and figuring out what works and what does not work. Be problem solvers.
